What Changes in a MISMO Session?

The primary difference your signers will notice is related to session re-entry.

Standard Session

If a signer leaves the session and returns, they can typically rejoin without repeating the identity verification process.

MISMO Session

If a signer exits the session for any reason, including closing their browser, refreshing the page, losing their internet connection, or intentionally leaving—they will be required to complete the authentication and identity verification process again before rejoining.

This additional verification step helps maintain compliance with mortgage industry standards and ensures the integrity and security of the notarization session.

The main difference that your signers will experience is if leaving a session and rejoining, they will be required to go through the authentication process again.

How to enable MISMO Session?

This new functionality offers users the flexibility to adapt to specific industry standards, this is primarily for professionals in the real estate and mortgage sectors.

To set up a MISMO session, simply click the MISMO button in your invite flow as seen below.

Important Notes

MISMO mode should only be enabled when required by your transaction or organization.
All participants should be informed that leaving the session will require them to complete authentication again.
