How to Join a Session from Your Journal | Notary

This video and text guide explains how to join a notarization session in BlueNotary using your Journal. Once a session has been scheduled or created, you can quickly access and join it from your dashboard.

Step 1: Log in to Your BlueNotary Dashboard

First, log in to your BlueNotary account and go to your main dashboard.

From the dashboard, locate the Journal tab in the left-hand navigation menu. The Journal contains all your past and upcoming notarization sessions.


Step 2: Open the Journal

Click Journal in the left menu.

Inside the Journal, you will see a list of your sessions, including:

  • Pending sessions
  • Completed sessions
  • Scheduled sessions ready to begin

Find the session you want to start.


Step 3: Click “Join”

When a session is ready, a Join button will appear next to it.

Click Join to enter the session.

This will open the session pre-join screen.


Step 4: Check Your Camera, Microphone, and Speakers

Before entering the session, BlueNotary will show a pre-join screen where you can verify your audio and video devices.

You should confirm:

  • Camera is working and showing your video
  • Microphone is selected correctly
  • Speakers are set to the correct device

This step ensures the signer and notary can see and hear each other during the session.


Step 5: Enter the Session

Once your devices are confirmed, click Join Session.

You will now enter the live notarization session.

Inside the session you will be able to:

  • View the document(s)
  • Tag signature, date, and notary fields
  • Guide the signer through the signing process
  • Complete the notarization


Tips for a Smooth Session

To avoid issues when joining:

  • Use Google Chrome for the best experience
  • Ensure your internet connection is stable
  • Allow your browser access to your camera and microphone
  • Close other applications that may be using your camera

If you experience issues joining a session:

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Check that your browser permissions allow camera and microphone access
  • Contact BlueNotary support if the issue persists


This process allows you to quickly access and start any notarization session directly from your BlueNotary Journal.
