Getting started with BlueNotary is a simple process, but there are a few important steps you'll need to complete before you're fully approved. Follow this guide to ensure your application goes smoothly!

Step 1: Create Your Account

First, visit bluenotary.us and sign up as a notary. You’ll be asked to enter basic information, including your name, email, and password. After completing this step, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Sign up page

Once you click the confirmation email, you will be routed to a page where you’ll confirm which account type you are signing up for. Please make sure to select "Notary" as your account type.

Step 2: Add your Personal Details

Complete your profile by providing the following:

  • Full legal name
  • Commission expiration date
  • County of commission
  • Any other required personal information

Step 3: Upload RON Approval Document

You’ll need to submit proof that you're authorized to perform Remote Online Notarizations (RON). Acceptable documents include:

  • A copy or screenshot of an email from your Secretary of State (SOS) or Department of State (DOS) confirming RON approval
  • A photo of a physical approval letter from your SOS/DOS
  • If your state doesn’t issue RON-specific documents, upload your commission letter or approval email

Step 4: Add Your Stripe Details for Payouts

To receive payments, connect your Stripe account by navigating to:

Your Name > Settings > Payouts > Create Stripe

Step 5: Await Approval

After submitting all required information and documents, your application will be reviewed by the BlueNotary team. You’ll receive an email notification once you’re approved and ready to notarize documents.
