How to Add/Remove Notaries for Business/Title Account

Business and Title accounts that use their own notaries must connect each individual notary account to the business account. This allows administrators to manage notaries, assign permissions, and keep notarization activity organized under the business.

Important: Each notary must have their own individual notary account. If a notary needs to obtain their Digital Certificate and eSeal, submit documents to their Secretary of State (SOS), or complete an Exemplar, these actions must be completed from their individual notary account

If you want to use the same email for both admin and notary accounts, see the bottom of this article

Step 1: Add a Payment Card

efore inviting notaries, add a payment card to your Business account.

No charges are applied when you add your card. Your payment method is securely stored and will only be charged when billable activity occurs, such as:

  • Purchasing additional notary seats
  • Processing session-related payments
  • Purchasing eligible add-ons or services

Adding a payment method upfront ensures your account is ready when charges occur and prevents interruptions to your business operations.

Step 2: Open Your Business Dashboard & Select Add Team Members.

Step 4: Send a Notary Invitation

Enter the notary's email address and configure their permissions.
You can choose whether the notary can:

  • Send invitations to signers
  • View and use the Invoice tab

After selecting the appropriate permissions, click Send Invite. The invited notary will receive an email invitation to join your Business account.

Using the Same Email for Your Notary Account

Yes. When you create a Business or Title account, BlueNotary automatically creates a separate self-notary account for you.

Example:

  • Business Admin Account: name@gmail.com
  • Self-Notary Account: name+singlenotaryaccount@gmail.com

Both accounts deliver emails to the same inbox, so you do not need to manage multiple email addresses. Your Business account and your self-notary account remain separate within BlueNotary, allowing you to:

  • Manage your business settings and team members from the Business account
  • Perform notarizations from your individual notary account
  • Obtain your Digital Certificate and eSeal
  • Complete state requirements, such as submitting documents to your Secretary of State (SOS) or completing an Exemplar

When you receive invitations or notifications for your self-notary account, they will still arrive in the inbox associated with your original email address.
