How to Sign a document as a Signer

If you've been invited to sign a document, the process is quick and straightforward. Once you open your signing session, your Notary will guide you through each required field. Simply review the document, complete any required signatures, initials, or other fields, and finish the session when prompted.

This guide explains how to use the signature tools and complete your document successfully.

  1. You'll see a highlighted Signature field like the one shown below. This indicates where your signature is required.
  2. Click anywhere inside the Signature field to begin signing.
  3. If this is your first signature in the session, you'll be prompted to create one by drawing it, typing it, or uploading an image of your signature.

Create Your Signature

After clicking the Signature field, a Please Select Your Signature window will appear. This is where you can create or choose the signature that will be placed on the document.
You have four options:

  • Choose - If you've previously created a signature, select it from your saved signatures.
  • Draw - Use your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen to draw your signature by hand.
  • Type - Enter your name, and BlueNotary will generate a signature-style version for you.
  • Upload - Upload an image of your handwritten signature from your device.

Once you've created or selected your signature:

  1. Review the signature to make sure it looks correct.
  2. Check the consent checkbox to confirm that you agree to use an electronic signature.
  3. Click Adopt Signature to save and place the signature in the document.

Once you've created and confirmed your signature, it will automatically be placed in the field and can be reused for any additional signature fields in the same document.

If there are multiple signature fields, simply click each highlighted field to apply your saved signature until all required fields are completed.
