Troubleshooting Camera & Microphone Access

BlueNotary requires access to your device’s camera and microphone to support real-time audio and video during a signing session. If these permissions have been denied by your browser, device settings, or operating system, you must re-enable them before joining a session.

This guide shows you how to restore access on major platforms and browsers.

1. Why Permissions Matter

Web browsers (like Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge) use built-in privacy controls to prevent websites from accessing your camera and microphone without explicit permission. If these permissions are denied or blocked, video and audio features in BlueNotary will not function.

2. Re-Enabling Permissions in Your Browser

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari and go to the menu bar.
  2. Select Safari > Settings (Preferences).
  3. Click the Websites tab.
  4. In the left sidebar, choose Camera. Set BlueNotary (or this website) to Allow.
  5. Repeat for Microphone.
  6. Refresh your browser tab to apply the change.

Safari may reset “Ask” or “Allow” defaults periodically. You can set site-specific permissions here to keep them enabled.

  1. Go to the Apple menu > System Settings.
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security.
  3. Click Camera and enable access for your browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.).
  4. Click Microphone and enable access for your browser
  5. Restart the browser and refresh the BlueNotary session.

Windows 10 / 11 (All Browsers)

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security.
  2. Select Camera and turn on access.
  3. Select Microphone and turn on access.
  4. Open your browser again and refresh the BlueNotary session.
