# Troubleshooting Camera & Microphone Access

BlueNotary requires access to your device’s camera and microphone to support real-time audio and video during a signing session. If these permissions have been denied by your browser, device settings, or operating system, you must re-enable them before joining a session.

This guide shows you how to restore access on major platforms and browsers.

### 1. Why Permissions Matter

Web browsers (like Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge) use built-in privacy controls to prevent websites from accessing your camera and microphone without explicit permission. If these permissions are denied or blocked, video and audio features in BlueNotary will not function.

### 2. Re-Enabling Permissions in Your Browser

### **Safari (macOS)**
1. Open **Safari** and go to the menu bar.
2. Select **Safari > Settings (Preferences)**.
3. Click the **Websites** tab.
4. In the left sidebar, choose **Camera**. Set BlueNotary (or this website) to **Allow**.
5. Repeat for **Microphone**.
6. Refresh your browser tab to apply the change.
Safari may reset “Ask” or “Allow” defaults periodically. You can set site-specific permissions here to keep them enabled.

2. Scroll down and tap **Safari**.
3. Tap **Camera**, then choose **Allow** or **Ask**.
4. Tap **Microphone**, then choose **Allow** or **Ask**.
5. Return to Safari and refresh the BlueNotary session page.

### **Chrome (Windows, macOS, Android)**
1. Open **Chrome** and navigate to the BlueNotary session.
2. Click the **Lock** icon to the left of the web address.
3. Locate **Camera** and **Microphone** permissions.
4. Set both to **Allow**.
5. Refresh the page.

On Android you can also adjust permissions in the **Chrome > Settings > Site settings** menu if needed.

### 3. Operating System Privacy Settings
If browser permissions are correct and you still have no access, your **system-level privacy settings** may be blocking access.
### **macOS (All Browsers)**
1. Go to the **Apple menu > System Settings**.
2. Navigate to **Privacy & Security**.
3. Click **Camera** and enable access for your browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.).
4. Click **Microphone** and enable access for your browser
5. Restart the browser and refresh the BlueNotary session.
### **Windows 10 / 11 (All Browsers)**
1. Go to **Start > Settings > Privacy & security**.
2. Select **Camera** and turn on access.
3. Select **Microphone** and turn on access.
4. Open your browser again and refresh the BlueNotary session.

### 4. Additional Troubleshooting Tips
* A. Refresh and Retry
* → After updating settings, always refresh the tab or reopen the browser before rejoining your session.
* B. Restart Your Device
* → If permissions are correct but the camera or mic still do not work, restart your device to ensure all settings take effect.
* C. Check Browser Version
* → Ensure you are using an up-to-date version of your browser. Older versions might not support permission prompts correctly.

### 5. Still Having Trouble?
If you have followed all steps and BlueNotary still cannot access your camera or microphone:
* Check for browser extensions or security/privacy apps that might block access.
* Try another browser (e.g., Chrome instead of Safari).
* Contact *BlueNotary Support* with your device model and browser details for further assistance.
